A Dickensian scene for North Staffordshire this Christmas

A Dickensian market will be brought to life this Christmas in North Staffordshire, as street scenes from the pages of Charles Dickens' novels will be re-visited.

The Newcastle-under-Lyme Christmas Market has been organised by the charity Caudwell Children, who will be raising funds the event.

Around 30 stalls will be put up on 5th December, and people involved will be wearing Charles Dickens style costume.

"We are urgently seeking unwanted items in good condition to be sold on stalls throughout the day, perhaps those clearing out to make space for Christmas.

"We are also appealing to local companies wishing to support Caudwell Children through the donation of raffle prizes.

"I am grateful to anyone who can help support our Dickensian market, which is set to be a day of absolute wonder and enchantment for all the family."

– Trudi Beswick, chief executive of Caudwell Children

The event will be supported by Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council and sponsored by Weston Power Distribution.
