Almost £10,000 donated to Malala support fund

Almost ten thousand pounds has been donated to a fund set up for Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousufzai who was shot by the Taliban.

The teenager is in a stable condition at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, after undergoing treatment. The hospital charity set up the fund after people around the world started to make donations to show their support.

First public speech for Malala

A 15 year-old girl shot in the head for promoting girls' education in Pakistan will give her first public speech on her birthday. Malala Yousafzai underwent life saving surgery in Birmingham and will speak on Malala day on 12 July.
