Murder investigation launched after post-mortem

The 54-year-old man who was found dead in a Wolverhampton house has been named by police as Swaran Singh.

His body was found at a house on Neachells Lane on Wednesday 7 November. Initially his death was not treated as suspicious, but a post-mortem examination revealed he was assaulted and a murder inquiry was launched.

The Detective leading the investigation said:

“We still await further tests to confirm exactly how Mr Singh died, however we believed he suffered various injuries that would have been as a result

of an assault.

“We urge anyone yet to come forward and speak to police with

information that might help our investigation to call us.”

– Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jones

The house where Mr Singh's body was found remains sealed off while forensic examinations are carried out.

A 42-year-old man was arrested in connection with Mr Singh's death and was released on police bail pending further enquiries.
