Police believe man was attacked 15 minutes before shooting
Police believe a man murdered in Nottingham on Saturday may have been attacked 15 minutes before he was shot.
Detectives have today released photographs of the victim and his car in the hope that witnesses of the shooting in Bilborough will come forward.
Germaine Edwards was found in Fairnley Road just after 5.00 pm with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre, but later died.
Witnesses have said they saw a silver Ford Fiesta drive into the street and heard a loud bang before the 28-year-old was pushed out of the rear of the vehicle.
A post-mortem examination revealed Germaine Edwards died of a gunshot wound.
A 32-year-old, who has been arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Heydon, who is leading the investigation, said:
“Despite making an arrest I am still appealing for information.
“In the ten or fifteen minutes before he was found, we believe Germaine, who was travelling in his Fiesta with a friend, was stopped in the Wollaton Vale area.
“He was then forced into the back of the vehicle by at least one man, who is described as black and wearing a cream-coloured jacket."
