A deal which would have seen veteran Notts County striker Lee Hughes move to Port Vale on loan has fallen through. The 36 year old looked to be on his way out of Meadow Lane, but in the last few minutes, the club has revealed that he will staying put.

“A proposed loan deal for Lee Hughes to go to Port Vale was discussed, however as it was so late in the day, the paperwork did not go through in time and we’re delighted to confirm that Lee remains a Notts County player." **
Hughes is unavailable for tomorrow's visit of Swindon Town as he starts a three-match ban after being charged by the Football Association for an incident at Scunthorpe United last weekend.**
