MP calls for more to be done to make level crossings safer

The local MP, John Mann, has called for more to be done to make the level crossings safer.

A four-year-old girl and a woman were struck by a train yesterday in North Nottinghamshire.

They were travelling in a car. The four-year-old was rushed to hospital and this morning, died from her injuries.

The driver, a 67-year-old woman was taken to hospital with neck injuries and bruising. She remains in hospital, in a stable condition this afternoon.

The train was travelling from Lincoln to Doncaster. It didn't de-rail but was damaged by the collision. No passengers were hurt.
