Temporary footbridge planned at level crossing
Network Rail have confirmed that they are planning on building a temporary footbridge at the level crossing in Bestwood Village in Nottinghamshire, where teenager Lindsey Inger died last week.
Martin Frobisher, Route Managing Director for Network Rail, said:
– Network Rail"This recent incident is a tragedy and our thoughts are with Lindsey's family and friends.
We have committed to work with Nottingham Express Transit to understand how this happened and take any action which is appropriate as a result of their investigation.
"I attended the public meeting with my team to listen to local people on their thoughts about both crossings at this location.
At the meeting I made a public commitment to work with the local Council and NET to look at installing a temporary footbridge."
