A new food bank in the Midlands has opened in Nottinghamshire.
The centre at a church in Gedling will give away food to families referred by local authorities or health services.
They have already collected three tonnes of food.
Christmas may be a time of over-indulgence for some, but hard-up families in the Midlands are relying on handouts to feed hungry mouths.
With people still struggling to afford basic food, a new food bank is to be launched today which will serve people in Gedling.
