Vandals destroy 80 Jubilee trees
Vandals have destroyed around 80 trees planted in Northamptonshire to mark the Queen's Jubilee year, just two weeks after they were planted.
The trees were planted in Brixworth by children and parents after being donated by the Woodland Trust.
Around 85 young people, including pupils from Brixworth primary school and their parents and other villagers worked together to plant the trees in the green spaces.
– Brixworth Parish councillor Ian Barratt, scheme coordinator"Someone has systematically destroyed the trees and it is such a disappointment. It is hurtful, but we won't let them win. We will re-plant more trees in the new year."
