A car has overturned near the scene of a fatal motorway accident, which happened on Christmas Day.
Firefighters from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service had to cut the male driver of the saloon car free after being called to the northbound carriageway of the M6 earlier today.
We do believe it overturned close to where the fatal crash happened on Christmas Day.
We had reports of one person trapped and one car overturned.
The injured man was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment.
The accident happened near junction 15 for Stoke-on-Trent, closing two lanes, and causing tailbacks.
In a separate incident on Christmas Day, on the same stretch of motorway, a car overturned killing three of the five occupants, including two young brothers.
Investigations into what caused that crash continue.
