Hopes to see Malala "out and about in Birmingham"

A schoolgirl from Pakistan who was shot in the head by the Taliban, has been released from hospital in Birmingham .

15-year-old Malala Yousufzai was discharged from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday.

She'll continue her rehabilitation at her family's temporary home in the West Midlands.

She'll be re-admitted in late January or early February to undergo reconstructive surgery.

First public speech for Malala

A 15 year-old girl shot in the head for promoting girls' education in Pakistan will give her first public speech on her birthday. Malala Yousafzai underwent life saving surgery in Birmingham and will speak on Malala day on 12 July.
