Malala discharged from Hospital

Malala Yousafsai, the 15-year-old Pakistani girl shot in the head by the Taliban, has been discharged from hospital in Birmingham.

She was flown here for specialist treatment after she was targeted by a gunman for campaigning for better education for girls.

Doctors at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital have decided she is now well enough to be treated as an outpatient.

First public speech for Malala

A 15 year-old girl shot in the head for promoting girls' education in Pakistan will give her first public speech on her birthday. Malala Yousafzai underwent life saving surgery in Birmingham and will speak on Malala day on 12 July.
