Plans for improvements to the network across the Midlands have been announced by Network Rail.
It will spend hundreds of millions of pounds over the next 5 years.
The company says it will greatly improve the service but some think commuters will be left to bare the brunt of the cost.
In Derby the line is being remodelled allowing an increase in capacity, and electrification of the Midland Mainline will allow faster and more reliable trains to run on the route, that alone is costing over half a billion pounds..
