The Foreign Office today confirmed that a civil engineer from Nottingham was among those killed by Islamist militants during a hostage crisis at a gas plant in Algeria last week.
Sebastian John is one of six Britons thought to have died when the Algerian army moved in to end the crisis on Saturday.
37 workers from eight countries died in total.
