A man has died after two vehicles left the road and went into a river at Buxton.
At around 8:30am this morning, two vehicles driving along a bridle path which runs near to the Monsal Trail, north of the A6, left the path and entered the River Wye.
Three passengers, one from the first car and two from the second, all managed to escape safely.
The 42-year-old driver of the first car, a Toyota Aygo, died later at Stepping Hill Hospital.
An investigation has been launched.
