50,000 trees to be planted in Rugby as part of the 'Diamond Wood' project

The Woodland Trust and Rugby Borough Council have been down at a site in Warwickshire today, planting trees as part of a project set up to commemorate the Queen's jubilee.

Sixty 'Diamond Woods' are being planted around Great Britain, explains Dominic Sweeting – the jubilee events officer for the Midlands.

Jubilee Tree Planting

The first public tree planting has taken place today at the 60 acre 'Diamond' Wood site in Rugby. It's part of a UK wide project called Jubilee Woods, marking The Queen's Diamond Jubilee by creating hundreds of woods across the UK.
