The UK needs more trees says Woodland Trust

The Woodland Trust has been planting trees across a 60 acre plot in Rugby today as part of its Diamond Wood project set up to commemorate the Queen's jubilee.

Britain is one of the worst countries in Europe for woodland coverage, says Dominic Sweeting, jubilee event officer at the Woodland Trust.

Jubilee Tree Planting

The first public tree planting has taken place today at the 60 acre 'Diamond' Wood site in Rugby. It's part of a UK wide project called Jubilee Woods, marking The Queen's Diamond Jubilee by creating hundreds of woods across the UK.
