Yorkshire connections of Richard III

The Yorkshire Branch of the Richard III Society claim, naturally, that Yorkshire was his favourite county of all.

It was in Yorkshire, they say, that he enjoyed his happiest days, where he and his wife, Anne Neville, daughter of Warwick the Kingmaker made their first - and favourite - home, at Middleham Castle .

And it was in Yorkshire that that their only son, Edward was born in 1473, and spent most of his tragically short life.

King Richard III remains to be buried in Leicester

The High Court has ruled that the University of Leicester does have the rights to bury King Richard III's remain in the city's cathedral.
