The families of patients who died at Stafford Hospital have called for heads to roll at the NHS following a public inquiry which examined why up to 1,200 patients died needlessly. A report found there was a lack of care, compassion and humanity.

The elderly and vulnerable were left unwashed, unfed and without fluids as the trust chased targets and focussed on finances.
