Murder inquiry launched following death of elderly man
A murder investigation is underway after the death of an elderly man in Kirkby-in Ashfield.
The victim, in his 70s, was attacked at his home in Cornerpin Drive at around 9pm on Sunday.
He collapsed and later died at hospital.
A post-mortem examination revealed he sustained an aneurism, but the cause of death is not yet known.
Detectives believe a white man, of medium to heavy build, wearing dark clothing with a black hat or hood and a sleeveless, yellow high-visibility jacket may have been involved in the assault.
