Police say a 'detailed investigation' is taking place after a man was found dead at his home in the Hanley area of the city on the morning of Friday 15 February.
Simon Hammond was found in his flat on Matthews Walk shortly after 9:00am yesterday.
Chief Inspector Jeff Moore, Local Policing Team Commander for Stoke-on-Trent South, said:
“A detailed investigation is underway and we are appealing for anyone who knew Mr Hammond and saw him recently to contact us.
“Neighbourhood officers are carrying out high visibility patrols in the area and I’d encourage anyone with concerns to approach them.
“Local officers will be keeping local residents informed and reassured.”
