Glenfield Hospital's heart unit will have its fate decided next month
A High Court judge hopes to announce next month the legality of proposed changes to relocate the children's heart unit at Glenfield Hospital to Birmingham.
Mrs Justice Nicola Davies, sitting in London, said today that she would use "every endeavour to get the final judgment out by March 7".
The judge is being asked to declare that the consultation process which led to the changes was unfair and "procedurally flawed".
Campaign group Save Our Surgery (SOS), wants a rerun of the consultation.
More than 100,000 people signed a petition against the move which was announced in July, and last month the Health Secretary asked for a full review of the plans. It's one of three centres facing closure nationally.
