The Department for Education has confirmed Sinfin Community College will be converted into an Academy, despite strikes and protests from teachers.
The Department for Education said more than half of the respondents to the consultation agreed that the school should become an Academy.
The Secretary of State also took the long history of underperformance at Sinfin Community School into account.
The Secretary of State has decided that to deliver the improvement needed, the school should be converted to a sponsored Academy.
I am pleased that the current uncertainty over the future of Sinfin Community School has now been resolved.
