Leicester bids for City of Culture 2017

Leicester is to compete against cities including Plymouth and Aberdeen in a bid to be declared the UK City of Culture 2017.

Key figures from the arts, business and media now have two months to prepare the bid.

Leicester 'City of Culture' bid

Leicester has lost out in its bid to become UK City of Culture 2017. The announcement that Hull has made the successful bid was made this morning.
