Minced and diced beef has been taken off the menus of primary schools in Walsall after tests revealed horse DNA in meat from a school supplier.
The DNA was discovered in frozen mince supplied by Welsh Bros Foods Ltd of Newport. Previous tests have not revealed any issues with this supplier.
One batch of mince that tested positive for horse DNA was supplied to Walsall schools from mid December 2012 to mid January 2013.
Later samples submitted have not shown horse DNA to be present.
