The Deputy Chief Executive of the Mid Staffs NHS Trust has released this statement in response to the news that two members of the Trust board have resigned. It follows yesterday's announcement that health regulators are considering putting the Trust into administration.

We regret that the announcement by Monitor has resulted in the resignation of two of our Non-Executive Directors, Eleanor Chumley-Roberts and Dr Lynne Hulme. We would like to thank them for the service they have given to the Trust.
