Forensic Scientist gives evidence at Philpott trial

Daniel Matthews, a Forensic Scientist, tells the jury that clothing and footwear belonging to Mick and Mairead Philpott and Paul Mosley was examined.

He said he was looking for signs of 'any microscopic burn damage to recent exposure to a mixture of fuel and air known as a flame wash.'

Mr Matthews said he was asked to look for remains of petrol cans or a funnel. He didn't find any but did find a severely damaged aerosol can.
