Man banned from football matches following racist comments

A man has been banned from attending football matches for three years after he was found guilty of shouting racist comments at two players at Pride Park.

34-year-old Adam Smith, of Allenton, has also been fined £991 for the offences which took place at a match between Derby County and Birmingham City on 27th November.

Racist abuse or behaviour will not be tolerated by the police or Derby County FC. This sort of behaviour is not acceptable at the ground or anywhere.

We will use all legislation necessary to prevent and deter those who are intent on causing problems at any fixture either home or away.
