JCB has won an order to produce 1,000 backhoe loaders.
The deal is worth more than £40m and comes as the company marks 60 years of loader production.
The 1,000 machines will be delivered to Brazil throughout 2013 and be used on work to improve rural roads and food production routes.
Most of the JCB's will be produced at the new Sao Paulo site but 12,000 hydraulic cylinders will be made at JCB's World Head quarters at Rocester.
“This is a very important deal for JCB. It is huge testament to the quality and versatility of JCB’s backhoe loaders and it’s fantastic to win an order of this size as we celebrate 60 years of backhoe loader production this year.”
