Police search for James Brodie in Lincolnshire canal

A further search in connection with the murder of James Brodie will begin today.

Part of a canal in Lincolnshire will be searched this week. It follows a search of Maize Farm in East Heckington, Lincolnshire last month. That provided police with some samples to send off for further tests.

The 19-year-old is believed to have gone missing shortly after jeweller Marian Bates was shot dead during a robbery at the Time Centre, in Arnold, in September 2003.

Dean Betton, who is 32 and from Radford, has been charged with James Brodie’s murder.
