A quarter of a million extra school places are needed by next year to cope with a surge in demand - that's the warning tonight from the spending watchdog, the National Audit Office.
During a visit to Leicester's first free school today, the Education Secretary Michael Gove told ITV News that he believes such schools willl help to address the problem. Rajiv Popat reports.
