An exert of a Video of Mick Philpott being interviewed by police has been played at Nottingham Crown Court.
The interview was carried out on May 15, 2012 – prior to Mick Philpott's arrest.
During the video of Mick Philpott being interviewed by police, he describes how on the night of the fire, he woke to see a 'bright orange light', how he climbed a ladder outside the house and tried to break the windows of the upstairs bedrooms where his children slept.
He is also seen describing screaming and shouting to his children before breaking down in tears.
Mick Philpott has now finished giving evidence.
