Keepers at Dudley Zoological Gardens had to battle through the snow to feed their 1,300 animals this morning.

Paths and roadways to enclosures were manually cleared to allow zookeepers to reach the hungry animals.

Additional heaters were laid out for the meerkats and small primates and warm drinks were made for the larger apes.
