A new helpline for men and women in Leicestershire affected by domestic abuse has been launched.

The free phone number, which is run by Women’s Aid Leicestershire Ltd and The ADAM project for men, offers advice, information and details on available support services.

Phil Hawkins, Head of Youth Justice and Safer Communities at Leicestershire County Council, said: “We are pleased to be working with Women’s Aid to offer this vital support.

“We want both women and men who are suffering from domestic abuse to know there is someone there to listen and that help and support is available.”

The helpline is available for county residents on 0300 303 1844 initially between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
