Crime falls in West Mercia region

Crime has fallen in the West Mercia region by 25% in 6 years according to figures from the police.

Communities like Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire have recorded 9,000 fewer crimes than last year.

This means there have been 119 fewer burglaries, 62 fewer robberies and 4,445 fewer incidents of anti-social behaviour.

West Mercia Police’s Chief Constable, David Shaw, said people were living in ‘one of the safest parts of the country.'
