Workers in race against time to complete Birmingham New Street

Workers are frantically trying to complete the first section of Birmingham New Street station's upgrade in time for Sunday's opening to the public.

That's when work on the old concourse, which was built in the 1960s, will begin.

Former entrances will close and the new section of the station will open.

This marks the half way point in the construction work, which will be finished in 2015.
