One arrested after Molineux pitch invasion

Wolverhampton Wanderers has confirmed one person was arrested by police after fans invaded the pitch at the Molineux this afternoon.

It followed a 1-2 home defeat to Burnley, making it increasingly likely Dean Saunders' side will be relegated from the Championship.

This evening Wolves made the following statement on its website.

“The Club has contingencies in place to deal with every eventuality, including pitch incursions.

“The pitch was cleared relatively quickly and there were no reported injuries. There was one arrest.

“The Club will work with West Midlands Police to review all the footage relating to the post-match events.”
