Three men who stole wrapped presents from Christmas trees in homes across the West Midlands, have been jailed for a combined total of more than 11 years.
At Birmingham Crown Court, Darren Hackett, of Pool Farm Road in Acocks Green, was jailed for five years whilst Francis Gilsenan (28), of no fixed address, and Daniel Sheridan (20) from Tyseley Lane in Tyseley were handed sentences of three years and two months.
West Midlands Police Detective Sergeant Nick Barnes, said: “These were particularly cruel crimes: they stole Christmas presents like games consoles that were clearly destined for young children. They’ll now be spending several Christmases behind bars."
