Firefighters in Staffordshire have tackled nearly 800 small fires so far this year, the majority of which have been started deliberately.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has created a video warning youngsters of the risks – and the punishments – ahead of school holidays when more deliberate fires tend to be started.

The Service has launched a new video targeting teenage fire-starters and the penalty they face if convicted – a maximum £5,000 fine or a prison sentence of up to two years.
