Peter Kay 'brother' admits fraud

A man accused of posing as the brother of comedian Peter Kay to con pub landlords in the East Midlands has pleaded guilty to five counts of fraud.

Investigation into Peter Kay 'brother' case started in 2009

Police launched an investigation in 2009 after pub landlords in Derby reported that a man was tricking them out of money, by pretending to be Peter Kay's brother.

Peter Stead, 50, of no fixed abode, would be given cash for bookings, but then not turn up for the performances.

Officers carried out a countrywide search to find him.
