Coventry City Football Club are tonight a step closer to playing at the Ricoh Arena next year after its owners said they could use it rent-free.
ITV News Central has also learned that Arena Coventry Limited, who own the stadium, have made a bid to buy the club's assets from the administrator- a controversial move given it was their application to the courts for unpaid rent which resulted in the club going into administration.
The sale of Coventry City has been completed, but the Football League still needs to decide on its future
Members of the Sky Blues Trust, a supporters' group, have given a letter to the club's administrator.
Sources at Coventry City say the club is in ‘advanced talks’ with Walsall over plans to temporarily play at Bank's Stadium.
