The firm which owns half of the Ricoh Arena has made a bid to buy Coventry City.
Arena Coventry Limited, which runs the stadium, is 50% owned by Coventry City Council.
The company has confirmed to ITV Central News that it has put in an offer to purchase Coventry City FC Ltd, the part of the club which is in administration.
"Making a bid for CCFC Ltd has always been an option available to ACL. Such a move would have a beneficial impact of uniting ownership of the stadium with ownership of the football club, and ensuring that the Sky Blues can continue playing in Coventry for many years to come."
The sale of Coventry City has been completed, but the Football League still needs to decide on its future
Members of the Sky Blues Trust, a supporters' group, have given a letter to the club's administrator.
Sources at Coventry City say the club is in ‘advanced talks’ with Walsall over plans to temporarily play at Bank's Stadium.
