A memorial service is being held in Birmingham today for a girl who died in a clinic in India.

Gurkiren Kaur Loyal from Ladywood fell ill during a family trip to the country in April and went to hospital to be treated for dehydration.

The 8-year-old's parents claim she was given an injection, but medics refused to tell them what it was.

She died shortly afterwards.

When her body was flown back, Gurkiren's family realised that her organs had been removed.

Today's memorial event is happening in Centenary Square in Birmingham between 4:30pm and 7:30pm.

Those who attend are being asked to wear red or pink - Gurkiren's two favourite colours.
