Lee Westwood has withdrawn from next week's Alstom French Open, due to fatigue.

Westwood, who was tied for 15th at the US Open earlier this month before finishing 74th at last weekend's Travelers Championship, will also be absent at this week's Irish Open.

The world number 12, who was born in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, is set to return to competitive action at the 142nd Open, which takes place at Muirfield from July 18-21.
