The Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca) has confirmed it has arrested a man in Leicester as part of an investigation into allegations of a historic paedophile ring in North Wales.
A spokesman said: "The assaults, on three boys, are alleged to have taken place between 1969 and 1984 when they were aged between 12 and 14 years old.
"The 62-year-old man will be taken to a police station in Leicestershire, where he will be interviewed."
Detectives from Operation Pallial, which launched last November, are looking into 140 allegations relating to 18 care homes between 1963 and 1992.
