Mo Farah passed his biggest test of the year with flying colours as he claimed 5,000 metres victory over a strong field at the Sainsbury's Grand Prix at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.

The double Olympic champion faced a stiff challenge, with the world's two fastest 5,000 metres runners – Ethiopian pair Yenew Alamirew and Hagos Gebrhiwet – on the start line.
