Man ordered to pay compensation after admitting to racist tweets

A man from Cheltenham who admitted sending racist tweets to two footballers has been ordered to pay £500 compensation to them.

The messages were sent to Adebayo Akinfenwa and Clarke Carlisle when they were playing for Northampton at Whaddon Road.

Twenty-five-year-old Ben Townsend has also been ordered to do 200 hours unpaid community work.
