West Midlands Ambulance Service are warning people to avoid swimming in lakes, rivers and other open water.
It comes after 17-year-old Russell O'Neill died at a quarry near the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire at the weekend.
The Ambulance Service is urging people not to risk their lives.
