Proposals for a new 2,000-seat arena for the Leicester Riders have been planned in time for the team's next season.
The £2.5 million stadium will be used as a link-up between the Riders, Leicestershire County Cricket Club and Leicester College.
The lease on the team's current home ends at the end of the season, Riders director Kevin Routledge said:
This venue is an absolute must for us, so we are determined to make sure it happens.
We are going to deliver this venue, there are no ifs or buts about it, we will be building this venue here at Grace Road this year. We have to deliver it, it is crucial for the future of Leicester Riders.
