Swimmer found in River Severn named, full report

The body of a 20-year-old has been recovered from the River Severn in Shropshire. Police divers were called to the scene, after reports of a man who got in difficulties yesterday afternoon.

It is the second water-related death since the hot spell began. Safety campaigners are urging people to think again before cooling off in lakes, quarries and rivers.

Missing swimmer named

Police have named the missing man found in the River Severn as 20-year-old Damian Southall, from Womborne in South Staffordshire.
